ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The University of Providence women's outdoor track and field program saw five athletes compete at the NAIA National Championships at Karl Strauss Track on Thursday and Friday.
Â
The highlight of the day was sophomore
Havyn Vandenacre who threw a distance of 43.95m in the javelin to qualify for the finals. Coming off a 15
th place finish at the 2025 National Championships, her distance of 43.95m held all the way through to secure a fifth-place finish for her first career All-American status.
Head Track & Field Coach
Alan Cress on his athlete's performances stated, "Havyn showed me today that she was there to get her first All-American spot with her very first throw, which held up for a fifth-place finish. Having thrown well in some big meets this season and being at the National Championship last year as a freshman, really helped her to have that focus needed to compete with the talented group of women's javelin throwers. I am proud of her for persevering through another lightning delay today and a downpour of rain to stay on task and earn her All-American spot."

In the discus on Friday freshman
Grace Finkle placed ninth at 42.63m and senior
Avari Batt placed 12
th at 42.20m prior to
Shelbey Klein placing 23
rd in the javelin at 38.57m.
Following a rain delay on Thursday, sophomore
Lauren Cima was the lone Argo to compete placing 12
th in the Shot Put. Cima is now a three-time All-American in her career earning accolades in the Hammer Throw on Wednesday, and the Shot Put at both the 2025 Outdoor National Championships and the 2026 Indoor National Championships.
