HELENA, Mont. – The Frontier Conference has announced that the University of Providence has been voted to finish second in the conference by the Frontier Conference Coaches' Poll.
Bellevue tallied 10 first place votes and collected 120 points to claim the top spot in the coaches' preseason poll, while Providence, who swept both the Frontier Conference regular season and postseason titles in 2024, picked up the final two first place votes and earned 110 points to finish second in the poll.
Montana Tech came in third with 96 points, edging Montana Western by three points (93 points). The Bulldogs highlighted their season with a historic victory over NAIA's nationally ranked #1 Northwestern (Iowa) in NAIA National Tournament's pool play before falling to Corban (Ore.) in the quarterfinals.
Head Coach
Arunas Duda on the preseason poll stated, "When the frontier expanded, our league became exponentially tougher, and to be chosen by the coaches as the number two ranked team is quite an honor. However, our culture here at UP is that we never settle, and we will work hard to accomplish our goals. Every match will be a battle and we're just working hard to prepare ourselves for a long and strenuous conference season. This group of girls is a special one and I'm excited to see what we can accomplish when we play our best volleyball."
The Argos will open their season at the Big Sky Challenge on Aug. 22-23 where they will face Nelson University, Eastern Oregon, The Evergreen State, and Taylor University at the Civic Center in Butte, Mont.
