HELENA, Mont. – After leading the Argos to victories over #21 Nelson University, The Evergreen State College, and Taylor University, junior
Kyra Saiers has been named the Erck Hotels Frontier Conference Defender of the Week.
Kyra is a defensive specialist from Valley Springs, Calif. and totaled 67 digs to average 5.15 per set over the weekend. Kyra tallied 18 digs versus #21 Nelson and 17 versus #5 Eastern Oregon on Day one of the Big Sky Challenge.
This is the Argos first defender of the week honor this season and is Saiers' first career Frontier Conference Player of the Week award in her debut weekend on the court for UP.

She really had a tremendous weekend both in serve receive and defense and had some amazing digs in key situations. Exciting for what the future holds with her competing as one of our defenders!"
The Argos will be back in action this weekend when they travel to the CSM Labor Day Classic in Omaha, Neb. UP will face Oklahoma Panhandle State University and #24 William Carey on Friday prior to playing Dakota Wesleyan and #8 IU Kokomo on Saturday.
