SALEM, Ore. -- The University of Providence men's wrestling program had six wrestlers advance to the semifinals at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships on Friday.

Seniors Kobi Johnson, Blaze Sumiye, juniors Pig Hobbs, Jalen Vladic, Irish Furthmyre, and sophomore Blake Woolsey all advanced to the semifinals on Friday. Johnson and Furthmyre went 2-0 while Hobbs, Woolsey, Vladic, and Sumiye had first round byes and won their quarterfinal matches to advance.

Johnson defeated Jaren Kimura 7-2 and Julio Gonzales 13-2 while Furthmyre pinned Hassan Abdi in 2:21 and defeated Tomas Jacobo 11-6 on their way to the semifinals.

Hobbs defeated Cole Zoller 10-0, Woolsey defeated Kolten Powers 7-5, Vladic defeated Jesse Rubio 6-5, and Sumiye defeated Benjamen Mitchell 7-3 to clinch their spot in the semifinals.

The Argos will be back in action tomorrow for Championship Day at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament in Salem, Ore. Wrestlers will begin at 11:00 a.m. (MST) at the Salem Armory Auditorium.
