PREVIEW: Lady Argos Travel to Eugene for Series Against Beacons

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Lady Argo softball isn't battling for a Cascade Collegiate Conference playoff spot anymore. With an 11-18 (3-15) record and only two more conference series to go, the postseason is out of UGF's reach. What the team is battling for now is simply to not be the conference's cellar-dweller. The team's upcoming series against Northwest Christian University will most likely determine if that happens of not.

Currently the Argos and the Beacons are tied for last in the CCC standings, each with a conference record of 3-15. UGF has fared better in non-conference play, going 8-3 in non-CCC games, while NCU's three conference wins are their only of the season.

The two teams have only played each other twice, during a 2016 doubleheader in Eugene, Oregon. The series was split 1-1, with UGF taking a 2-1 win in an 8 inning Game 1, and NCU answering with a 6-5 win in Game 2.

After home series against #18 Corban, where UGF went 0-4, the Lady Argos will be back on the road against Northwest Christian. Away games have not been kind to UGF. The team is 2-11 on the season in true away against, and 0-11 since the start of conference play.

The two doubleheaders will be played on April 14 & 15 in Eugene, Oregon, with the first game starting at 3 p.m.
