10 Argo Basketball Players Earn Academic All-Frontier Conference Honors

WHITEFISH, Mont. – Ten Argo men's and women's basketball student-athletes were named Academic All-Frontier for the 2018-19 season.
 
To be eligible for academic all-conference selection, student-athletes must be a sophomore and hold a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA and enrolled at their current school for the previous two semesters.
 
On the women's side, seven Argos received recognition, including senior Tristan Murphy, junior Jenna Randich, and sophomores Parker Esary, Emilee Maldonado, Kerstyn Pimperton, Elly Teske, and Brittany White.
 
The honor marks Randich's second-straight honor, while Murphy, Esary, Maldonado, Pimperton, Teske, and White received their first academic recognition.
 
Maldonado leads the Argos offensively this season with 492 points scored so far this season, placing second in the Frontier. She also leads the Frontier in assists per game, averaging 5.13 per contest and garnering 159 total assists during the season.
 
Esary is the Argos second highest scorer, netting 406 points this season, but leading the conference in total rebounds (296) and rebounds per game (9.87). Esary also tallied 15 double-doubles this season, leading second place (7) in the Frontier by more than double.
 
Pimperton has played in all 31 of the Argos contests this season, shooting 40 percent from three and 36 percent from the field.
 
Murphy has played in 27 games for the Argos, averaging 45 percent from the field and pulling down 175 rebounds on the year.
 
Randich competed in the Argos first 10 contests of the season before her injury. She was shooting a fantastic 45 percent from the field and from three, netting 142 points during the 10 contests.
 
Teske and White came off the bench for the Argos this season playing in 29 and 17 games for the Argos, respectively. Teske shot for 50 percent for the Argos and worked in tandem with Esary when she needed rest.
 
On the men's side, three Argo redshirt-juniors were honored, including Thomas Middleton, Kevinjason Ng, and Jacob Wetzel.
 
Wetzel led the way for the juniors, playing in all 29 of the Argos games so far this season, averaging 51 percent from the field and from beyond the arc. Ng competed in 13 games, while Middleton played in 12 for the Argos this season.
