PULLMAN, Wash. – A new school record and three new PRs highlighted the Argo track and field's trip back to Pullman, Washington on Friday and Saturday.
On the men's side,
Zebadiah Boos bested his previous school and personal record from earlier this season in the weight throw, in addition to placing in the shot put. On the track,
Conor McGee competed for the Argos in the 3,000 and 5,000-meter runs.
Boos shattered the University of Providence record in the weight throw for the second time this season on Friday in Pullman, claiming a 9
th-place finish with a huge 14.82-meter throw to surpass his previous record of 14.50 meters.
In the shot put, Boos claimed his second personal record of the weekend with an 11
th-place finish, eclipsing his previous best of 12.99 meters with a 13.03-meter performance.
McGee claimed a 12
th-place finish in the men's 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:47.32. In the 3,000-meter run, McGee placed 25
th clocking in at 9:35.79.
On the women's side, the Argos placed in the 1-mile run, and off the track in the shot put and the weight throw.
Jillian Sanchez also eclipsed her personal best over the weekend by five feet as she claimed a fifth-place finish in the weight throw with a huge 14.74-meter performance.
Kaylee Beer and Kristen Bash placed 15th and 16
th with distances of 12.76 and 11.52 meters, respectively.
Sanchez also paced the Argos in the shot put with a throw of 10.93 meters to place 13
th, while Beer and Nash claimed 23
rd and 24
th with throws of 9.32 and 9.29 meters, respectively.
On the track,
Makayla Cook and
Kita Weingart competed in the women's 1-mile run. Cook finished 31
st, crossing the line after 6:31.43, while teammate Weingart finished right behind her in 32
nd with a time of 6:47.68.
