WHITEFISH, Mont. – The Frontier Conference announced on Monday that
Zebadiah Boos and
Shana Cosby were named Field Athletes of the Week following their record-breaking performances over the weekend at the Yellowjacket/Battlin' Bear Open.
Boos, a junior from Mount Calvary, Wisconsin, took first in the men's hammer throw, setting a new school record with an incredible 48.47-meter mark.
Along with his record-breaking performance in the hammer throw, Boos also claimed a fifth-place finish in the discus with a 42.96-meter mark.
Cosby, a junior from Great Falls, Montana, claimed the top-place finish in the women's javelin with a throw of 41.40 meters. Cosby's mark surpassed the A-qualifying standard and punched her ticket to Gulf Shores, Alabama for the 2019 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on May 23 through May 25.
The honor marks the first of the 2019 season for both Boos and Cosby. Last season, both student-athletes earned three Frontier Conference Athlete of the Week accolades apiece.
