Argos Rebound After First Loss

Caldwell, Idaho- University of Providence Volleyball team had an early match in Idaho this morning (Saturday) in the battle of the unbeatens, UP (7-0) and Eastern Oregon (8-0). Argos led by Senior Kelsey Shaver, who had 13 kills in their final match Friday night she would start right where she left off with Saturday mornings matches with at total of 17 kills.

Game one went back and forth before Shaver put the game away with a power kill shot down the line to give the Argos the win 25-20.
The next three games didn't go as well as Eastern Oregon battle in game two to take the victory 25-23 and they didn't look back taking game three and four by scores of 25-5 and 25-16. EOU was led by three hitters, Hailee Ackerman with 10 kills, Megan Bunn had 13 kills and Jet Taylor 12 kills.

Defensively for the Argos, Avery Dyer had 27 digs.  Kelsey Shaver added 17, Renae Davis 12, and Sacha Legros chipped in with 10.
The Argos played their final match Saturday, in Idaho, with a victory over Cardinal Stritch University winning in straight sets 25-17, 25-15, 25-19. UP was led in kills by Renae Davis (9), digs Sacha Legros (9) and Tyna Wiliam led the team with 3 blocks.

The University of Providence will host the UP Fall Classic this coming weekend with matches against North Idaho College, Benedictine University and Medicine Hat. Argos fist match will be Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 5 P.M.
