GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's hockey team cruised to another victory Saturday night, taking down the University of Montana 8-0 in the Argos' (2-0) first home game of the season.

The team got down early, allowing the Griz (4-3) to score a goal not even two minutes into the game. The Argos responded by rattling off four goals in the first period to make it 4-1 heading into the first break. The squad scored two more goals in each of the next two periods to secure the victory.

"I think we came off last night on a big high," head coach Jeff Heimel. "We got scored on right away and it took us five or six minutes after that to wake up. But after that, we were rolling. I thought we played pretty well."

Eight different Argos scored a goal for the squad. Ty Alger, Levi Anderson, Leo Felt, Taylor McCall, Cooper Page, Tobias Robinson, Jakob Stevenson and Will Wright all scored for the squad. Anderson also led the team with four assists, while Page and Liam Carvalho recorded two.

"Mostly everyone had a goal this weekend," Heimel said. "To come out 2-0, scoring 16 goals on the weekend, and having a lot of different guys doing things and overall playing well, I would take that for sure. We're happy."

The Argos will return to the ice on Friday against their biggest rival these past two seasons, the University of Mary. The game will start at 7:00 p.m. at the Great Falls Ice Plex.

"I'm trying to think of the right words to describe the rivalry and I can't find them," Heimel said. "We can't wait for that game. The guys are fired up already. That game is not hard for us to get excited about."
