GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence hockey team moved up three spots in the latest iteration of the ACHA Division II regional rankings that were released this week. The Argos (5-2) are now ranked 3^rd in the region, the highest the team has been ranked in the region on the season.

"We're excited," head coach Jeff Heimel said. "Moving up three spots is better than going down one. We're pretty excited about that."

The Argos were ranked sixth in the previous version of the rankings. The team didn't have any games, but several teams that were ranked ahead of them suffered losses, vaulting the Argos into the third spot.

The squad has two big games coming up this weekend when they face off against Montana State, who is coming in at #8 in the rankings. The Argos will host the Bobcats (10-5) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Great Falls Ice Plex, followed by a game in Bozeman on Sunday.

"These are big games," Heimel said. "They've always been our rivals. We know we have to take care of business. They're in the top ten so those games are going to matter. Someone is going to move as a result of that. There are big time playoff implications with this team."
