GREAT FALLS, Mont. - While the 2022 season did not turn out the way the University of Providence volleyball team wanted, there were a few individual accomplishments that highlighted the year.

Sophomore defensive specialist/libero Taylor Christensen crossed the 1,000-dig plateau with 1,020. The Belgrade, Montana native now sits sixth all-time in the Argo record books. She is currently 952 digs behind record holder Sacha Legros Simmons.

Zoe Naugle tied a school record for most blocks in a single match with 11 against MSU-Northern at the Frontier Preseason Tournament in Billings on Sept. 17. Naugle now shares the record with Josee Pendelton from 2017. In addition, Naugle, a junior middle blocker from Castle Rock, Wash., also moved to No. 4 all-time with 263 career blocks, one away from tying Ember Schwindt, 37 from tying Alyssa McEwan and will enter the 2023 season needing just 72 blocks to break Tiffany Marks' record of 334 career blocks.

Junior outside hitter Jenna Thorne keeps moving up the record books as well. Thorne, from Karitane, New Zealand will enter her senior season next fall with 684 kills and 401 digs. The dual threat standout can crack the thousand kill mark with 316 kills in 2023. Only three players in Argo history have eclipsed that mark, Madison Wilhelm (1,411), Kelsey Van Uden (1,295) and Tosha Nunes (1107).

Freshman setter Bella Thompson from Kapahulu, Oahu, totaled 905 assists this past season. If she averages that same total over the next three seasons, Thompson would become the all-time leader in assists, a mark currently held by Cydney Finberg-Roberts who tallied 3,618 helpers in her amazing career at Providence.
