Argos Fall to Montana State

10/19/2023 11:15:00 PM

BOZEMAN, Mont. – The University of Providence hockey program fell 4-0 to Montana State University Thursday night.

The Bobcats (9-0) struck first when a pass from behind the goal found Hayden Klem who shoved it past the goaltender.

A few minutes later the Argos (4-3) had a five on three opportunity but were unable to find the equalizer.

Later in the period Montana State intercepted an Argo pass, but freshman Paul Jarvis' kick save stopped the Bobcat breakaway. Jarvis had 15 saves in the first period.

Three minutes into the second period senior Ty Alger forced a turnover and found senior Jakob Stevenson for a breakaway but he was unable to beat the goalie.

The Bobcats would extend their lead midway through the second period when a loose puck gave Montana State a breakaway chance and Klem took advantage for his second goal of the night.

With three minutes left in the second period a wrist shot from the point by Montana State got past the screened goaltender to make it 3-0.

Despite a few chances for the Argos in the third period, the Bobcats would add another goal to win the game 4-0.

The Argos will be back in action Nov. 10 when they visit the University of Montana. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at the Glacier Ice Rink in Missoula, Mont.
