GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence men's hockey program hosts three opponents at the Great Falls Ice Plex this weekend. They face Weber State University on Oct. 5, Utah State University on Oct. 6, and Utah Valley University on Oct. 7. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. for all three matchups.
Last Time Out
The Argos went 2-1 last weekend at the Idaho Ice World. In the first game of the season, they fell 4-3 to Boise State University, but bounced back defeating Utah Valley University 10-2 for their first win of the year. UP then won their final game of the weekend avenging their opening night loss to Boise State, defeating the Broncos 7-4. Â
Season Leaders
Freshman
Adam Husli is the goal leader after scoring five in the Argos opening weekend. Husli also has the most points on the team with eight. Seniors
Jakob Stevenson and
Braden Bain are tied for second in goals scored with three, and Stevenson has the second most points on the team with seven. Freshman
Chris Fines is the save leader for the Argos, tallying 120 so far this season.
Weber State University
Weber State is 4-0 so far this season and are coming off a 28-0 victory over Idaho State University their last time out. They have outscored their opponents 48-2 in their first four games this year.
Utah State University
Utah State is 1-1 so far this season and are coming off a 13-2 victory over Utah Valley University their last time out.
Utah Valley University
This is the second matchup this season between the Argos and the Wolverines with UP winning the first matchup 10-4. Utah Valley is 0-4 so far this season and are coming off a 5-4 loss to Boise State University their last time out.
