HELENA, Mont. – The University of Providence volleyball program had four members earn all-conference honors Monday. Junior
Nina Janjic, senior
Jenna Thorne, redshirt freshman
Cabry Taylor, and assistant coach
Sacha Simmons were recognized for their 2023 seasons.Â
Janjic is a right-side hitter from Novi Sad, Serbia and was named first team all-conference and the Newcomer of the Year. Janjic tallied 300 kills on the season which ranked her sixth in the conference. Nina is the 12
th athlete in Argo Athletics history to have 300 kills in a single season.
Thorne is from Karitane, New Zealand and was named second team all-conference. Thorne was second on the team and 16
th in the conference in kills per set with 2.16. This is Jenna's third all-conference award after being named to the first team the last two seasons.
Taylor is from White Sulphur Springs, Mont. and was named to the all-freshman team. Taylor was tied for the most blocks on the team with 90 and had the fifth most in the conference. Cabry also had 113 kills and hit .204 in her debut season for the Argos.
Sacha Simmons was an All-American for the Argos and is the all-time record holder for digs and digs per set. Simmons on earning co-assistant coach of the year in only her second season stated, "I am very honored. I owe this to coach Duda who has been such a great mentor for me since I have been here. Kelsey has also been a huge part of this season and I am very lucky to be a part of this special coaching staff. The girls made my job so enjoyable; it has been such a pleasure to be part of their journey and to be able to watch them grow as players and individuals. I love my job, and I am grateful every day to be able to work here at the University of Providence with such an amazing group of people."

Arunas Duda on the all-conference honors stated, "These awards are a reflection of the great coaches and players we have in our program. We are very proud of the achievements and accomplishments of these young ladies and are excited to have several of them back next season."
