Box Score Honolulu, Hawai'i -- The University of Providence volleyball program continued their hot start to the season defeating Oregon Tech in straight sets.
The Argos (5-0) got out to an early 12-4 lead in the first set before the Owls (1-4) came storming back to bring it within three. UP survived and won the first set 25-21 behind four kills each from juniors

Arunas Duda on his team's depth stated, "That's one of the toughest things for teams to defend against us because we are pretty well balanced, anyone can have a really good day at any time."
The Argos started the second set even better than the first, getting out to an early 9-3 lead courtesy of three kills by both Hoerner and Janjic. The Argos would maintain a nine-point cushion until the Owls got within six late in the second set. Senior
Zoe Naugle would put them away with a kill off an assist from sophomore
Bella Thompson.
The third set was neck and neck with no team gaining a lead greater than two until the Argos scored eight straight points to take a commanding lead. Oregon Tech made a late run scoring seven straight points before UP put them away 25-21.
Hoerner and Janjic led the Argos with 12 kills each and Naugle added 10 of her own. Junior
Taylor Christensen led all players with 18 digs and Thompson and junior
Nati Slazynska combined for 35 assists.

Arunas Duda on his team's performance stated, "There was a lot of excitement having two families here supporting as well as all the parents who traveled with us, that was amazing. Had the drums going, what a great atmosphere for a college volleyball game."
The Argos are back in action tomorrow with two matches at the Shark Tank. The first match is against Truett McConnell University at 3:00 p.m. (MST) and game two versus Benedictine University at Mesa begins at midnight (MST).
