MISSOULA, Mont. – The University of Providence hockey program shutout the University of Montana 2-0 Friday night.
The Argos (9-5) controlled the game for the first two periods, but neither side was able to capitalize as the Winter Classic at the outdoor venue in Missoula was 0-0 heading into the third period.
The Argos continued to dominate into the third and with eight minutes remaining in the period junior
Adam Husli's shot from the blue line rebounded off the goaltender right to sophomore
Jamal Kalaf who pushed it into the back of the net to put UP ahead 1-0.
UP would not slow down from there when a few minutes later the Argos forecheck caused a turnover in the offensive zone, and a shot from the boards from freshman
Darnell Glasgo squeezed past the goaltender to extend the Argo lead to two.
Despite the Argos being on a six on three for the final 90 seconds, the UP penalty kill stood tall as the Argos defeated the University of Montana 2-0 for sophomore goaltender
Paul Jarvis' second straight shutout.
The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Nov. 9 when host the University of Montana. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont. Â Â Â Â Â
