CORVALLIS, Ore. – After picking up his first win of the season in the Argos to a 2-1 victory over Dakota Wesleyan, sophomore Thomas Sine has been named the Cascade Collegiate Defensive Player of the Week.

Sine is from Cheney, Wash. and allowed one goal and recorded eight saves in the Argos first win of the season over Dakota Wesleyan. Sine had key saves in the 85th and the 88th minute to keep the game tied before the Argos scored the go-ahead goal in the 89th minute.

This is the first CCC Defensive Player of the Week award this season for the Argos and the first since Teddy Benbow took home the award on 10/02/23. This is the first time in Sine's career he has been named the CCC Defensive Player of the Week and it is the first time in program history that the Argos took home both the Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards.

Head coach Will Hander on Sine's performance stated, "Thomas has constantly improved since getting on campus last year. He's really put in quality work and winning this player of the week award only re-emphasizes that his hard work is paying off."
