MISSOULA, Mont. – The University of Providence hockey program defeated the University of Montana 3-1 Friday night.
The Argos (5-6-1) scored the first goal of the contest when senior
Fabian Vik passed it back to sophomore
Jamal Shaw at the point and his slap shot went past the screened goaltender to put UP in front 1-0. Â
Neither side could find the back of the net for the rest of the period as UP went into the break leading by one. Â
UP extended the lead to two to begin the second period with a goal from junior
Chavez Constant, but with five minutes left in the period the Grizzles answered to cut the lead in half heading into the third.
The Argos added a goal to begin the third period when Shaw scored his second of the game, and despite a few late chances for the Grizzlies, UP defeated the University of Montana 3-1.
The Argos will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 2 when they host the University of Montana. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont. Â Â Â Â
