9/27/2025 4:07:00 PM

WESTMINSTER, Colo. – The University of Providence hockey program defeated the University of Colorado 4-1 Saturday afternoon.

The Buffaloes (2-2) scored the first goal of the contest when a Colorado attacker bumped goaltender Tucker Bayly off his spot and the scrum in front of the net pushed the puck across.

The Argos (2-1) had a few chances over the final five minutes of the first but were unable to find the back of the net as UP went into the break trailing 1-0.

UP answered to begin the second period when sophomore Jamal Shaw found senior Colby Friedrich and he buried his shot to tie the game at one.

The Argos continued their momentum scoring just over three minutes later when Friedrich found senior Fabian Vik to put UP ahead 2-1.

Both sides had chances the rest of the period but neither were able to add another goal as the Argos went into the third period leading 2-1.

The Argos did not slow down in the third period, adding goals from sophomore Darnell Glasgo and Friedrich's second goal of the game, and despite late pressure from Colorado, the Argos picked up their second win of the season 4-1.

The Argos will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 2 when they host Weber State University for the home opener. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont.
