GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's hockey heads to Helena, Mont. for the Montana Cup on Thursday, Jan. 8. The Argos will face the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. with the winner facing off on Saturday against the victor of Montana State and Montana Tech.Â
Last Time Out
The Argos went 3-0-1 at the Beehive Showcase defeating #9 Arizona State 3-2, Grand Canyon University 7-2, #25 Colorado State 9-0, and fell in overtime to #16 Boise State.

Montana Cup
The Montana Cup was introduced in 2024-2025 and is a four-team bracket comprised of Montana State, University of Montana, Montana Tech, and the University of Providence. UP will face the Grizzlies in the first round on Thursday, Montana Tech and Montana State will face off on Friday, and the winner of both matchups will play for the championship on Saturday.
University of Montana
The Grizzlies were ranked #12 in the latest ACHA Rankings after starting their season with a record of 9-11-1. This will be the third meeting this season between the Argos and the Grizzlies with UP taking both matchups 5-2 and 3-1.
