GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Providence indoor track and field program had two athletes compete at the NAIA National Championships throughout the weekend. Â

The highlight for the Argos was sophomore
Lauren Cima who earned All-American status with a third-place finish in the shot put.

Cima set a new program record for the fourth time this season with a throw of 15.15m and became the first women's indoor track & field All-American and first men or women athlete to earn All-American status in a field event at the indoor championships in program history.

Alan Cress on Cima's performance stated, "Lauren has focused and trained on reaching the 15-meter barrier all Fall and indoor season. Today's record breaking, All-American performance was fueled by that desire to be the best and reach the goals we set back in September. She has dedicated herself to one day being a National Champion and today was another step in that direction! "

Senior Josh Golemon also competed at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships, placing 30
th in the weight throw.
