Argos Head to Valley City to Wrap Up Frontier Conference Regular Season

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence softball program heads to Valley City, N.D. to wrap up the Frontier Conference regular season on April 24-25. UP will face the Vikings at 1:00 p.m. (MST) and 3:00 p.m. (MST) on Friday and 11:00 a.m. (MST) and 1:00 p.m. (MST) on Saturday.  

Last Time Out
The Argos picked up a midweek sweep over Carroll College defeating the Fighting Saints 11-2 and 18-16. With their eighth straight victory the Argos set new record for the longest win streak in program history. 

Stat Leaders
Junior Kasidy Yeoman is the Argos leading hitter thus far batting .460 which is the second in the Frontier Conference. UP also has three other hitters in the top 12 in batting average in junior Erin Bishop in seventh at .412, junior Tehneson Ehnes in eighth at .411, and freshman Aleana Aionaaka in 12th at .395. Ehnes leads the conference in RBIs with 62 and is currently sixth in the NAIA while junior Alix Bishop leads the conference in home runs with 11 and is tied for 18th in the NAIA. On the mound junior Ashley Mitchell and sophomore Madison Moultray have led the way throwing a combined 174.1 innings and tallying 18 wins.  

Valley City State
The Vikings are 22-23 so far this season and are coming off a 1-1 midweek split with Bismarck State their last time out. The Argos are 4-1 in their history versus Valley City State taking the lone matchup this season 13-10 in Jamestown, N.D.
