BUTTE, Mont. – Men's hockey opened up their 2018 campaign with a road test against the Orediggers with a dominating performance and tallying the program's first ever win and shutout, 5-0.
The Argos struck first within the first five minutes of play as
Josh Larson handled a puck from
Cody Hendrickson to go up 1-0.
Less than three minutes later,
Josh Larson would score his second goal of the match as he landed another shot in the 13
th minute of the first period to add some insurance for the Argos, 2-0.
Josh Larson tallied his third goal of the match in the final minutes of the opening period as he was fed by Hendrickson again to put the Argos up, 3-0.
The Argos took a 4-0 lead in the final period as
Leo Felt netted a pass from Hendrickson to push the lead to four.
The Argos would tally one more goal in with a little over six minutes to play as Jeron Hirshfeld passed to
Trevor Checketts to seal the win for the Argos, 5-0.
