GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Argo Hockey got back in the win column on Friday as they scored three straight in the third period to top Montana Tech, 5-3.
The Argos didn't spare any time as they got on the board first less than one minute into play as
Josh Larson handled a puck from
Cody Hendrickson and
Leo Felt to give the Argos an early lead, 1-0.
The Argos tacked on another one at the six-minute mark when
Leo Felt netted a puck from
Jeron Hirschfeld and
Cody Hendrickson to give Providence a two-point advantage during the first intermission.
The Orediggers cut the deficit in half during the second period as they scored the lone goal of the period at 11:38 on the clock, 2-1.
The Argos tallied their third goal of the match less than five minutes into the third as
Dawson Smith connected on his first goal of the season to push the Argos' lead back to two, 3-1.
Less than 30 seconds later,
Erik Gatson netted another goal to give the Argos a three-point advantage, 4-1.
Leo Felt tallied his second goal of the game at the 13:35-minute mark to put the Argos up by their largest margin of the game, 5-1.
The Orediggers attemped to come back, but the deficit proved to be too steep as they notched two goals in the final 10 minutes in the 5-3 loss.
Leo Felt led all scorers with two goals, while
Cody Hendrickson assisted on all by one goal during the win.
