Box Score GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's volleyball team defeated Montana Tech in straight sets (33-31, 25-22, 25-13) to win the Frontier Conference Tournament Championship.

The Argos (12-3, 25-6) defeated the Orediggers (10-4, 25-7) in front of rambunctious crowd at the McLaughlin Center. After winning the final points, several student-athletes rushed onto the court to celebrate with the volleyball team.

"I'm just so proud of these girls," head coach Arunas Duda said. "They've worked so hard. We're out there recruiting all the time trying to find the right kids, and it's very satisfying knowing that we found a great group of kids that love being together, love working hard for each other. As coaches we'll do anything for these kids because we know they'll appreciate it and they deserve it. It was such an exciting atmosphere. Our crowd was so great tonight. What a cool accomplishment to win on your home court. The crowd got going from the very first point."

The Argos were at risk of dropping their first set of the tournament in the opening set of the match. The back and forth set featured a whopping 64 total points, with both teams with chances to seal the set multiple times. The Argos eventually found a two-point lead, defeating the Diggers 33-31.

"We talked in the locker room beforehand about enjoying the moment," Duda said. "It's not every year you get to the finals in the conference tournament. It's such a fun experience. Towards the end of that first set, we were pretty relaxed because we were having fun. I think that made a big difference."

Once again, the Argos won the match with a balanced attack. Jensyn Turner led the Argos with 15 kills and an incredible .700 hitting percentage. She also recorded four digs. Kelsey Shaver, playing with an injured back, recorded 11 kills, 10 digs, two aces and one block. Cydney Finberg-Roberts recorded 47 assists and libero Sacho Legros recorded 14 digs. Averi Dyer recorded 11 digs and 9 kills. Ember Schwindt recorded six kills and a whopping six blocks. Tyna William also contributed eight kills.

"Our whole groove started a couple of weeks ago when Kelsey was out," Duda said. "Everybody else rose to the occasion and stepped up. That really helped us balance the offense out because everyone had confidence. Our setter had confidence in our hitters to put it away and it just kept going. Every match we've played we got a little bit better. It culminated in this one and it's awesome to go nine straight sets to win the Frontier Conference Tournament."

"Turner's a kid who gets in there for extra reps every day," he said. "She always ask questions, always wants to learn. She worked so hard to improve this year. Every match this year she just kept getting a little bit better. What a dominant force on the right side. She was great all tournament long. She just provides such a spark when you can spread the offense around like that."

The Argos will celebrate the win this weekend, but it's back to work next Monday. The NAIA Selection Show will take place at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18. The Argos are hoping to get a first-round bye, which would have them play their next game over Thanksgiving Break in Sioux City, IA.

 "We're going to give them some rest first," Duda said. "Both emotionally and physically. They just need a little bit of a break. We're going to rest and then we're going to compete. That's one of the things that we made the mistake of last year is taking it a little too easy. We weren't ready to compete when it came time for that tournament. Hopefully we'll be able to take some time off, get back in the gym, and continue this success. It's nice that we'll have some time to do that. We won't be rushed. Whatever draw we have, wherever we go at the national tournament, we're going to be excited and we're going to be prepared for it."
