McLaughlin Named 1st Team All-Region

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Senior forward Eme McLaughlin was named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NAIA 1st Team Women's All-West Region. This was the third straight year McLaughlin has been named 1st Team All-West Region.

"Eme brings unmatched goal production and is a constant attacking threat," head coach Brian Clarke said. "If she's not scoring goals, she's taking the attention and efforts of a couple defenders to shut her down. This award is another great recognition for her dedication and what she's put into the game of soccer."

McLaughlin had a stellar senior season as an Argo. On top of the regional honor, she was named 1st Team All-Conference, becoming the first player in program history to be named 1st Team All-Conference three times. She scored 20 on goals on the year, which accounted for nearly two thirds of the goals the Argos scored this season.

In her career, the senior from Charles M. Russell High School in Great Fall has scored 48 goals, a whopping 30 more goals than the 2nd highest total in Argo history.

Even more impressive than her on the field statistics is her involvement off the field. Recently, Eme won the 19th Annual Montana Athlete in Service Award and was presented that award at Bobcat Stadium during the Brawl of the Wild game.

McLaughlin received the award based upon her involvement in SAAC, the Exercise Science Club, and the Chemistry Club. She's also volunteered at the annual Halloween Spook-a-roo event, remodeled rooms at the Mercy Shelter, helped spearhead the 6th Graders Day Out basketball event, and "signed" a local girl with cystic fibrosis to the women's soccer team.
