GREAT FALLS, Mont. – In it's second game of the season, the University of Providence men's hockey fell to the University of Mary 3-0.
Following a 7-4 defeat on Friday night to the Marauders (17-1-2-1), head coach
Jeff Heimel believed his team cleaned up a little mistakes to compete with the Marauders tonight.
"I thought we played better," he said. "I thought we were a lot more disciplined than that. You can tell that we haven't worked on things as much as would have liked too."
"It was a close game for the most part," he said. "A couple of bounces here and there. We weren't able to generate much offensively despite having some pretty good chances."
Despite the two losses on the weekend, Heimel was pleased with his team's performance considering it was the team's first two games of the season. For comparison, the Marauders had played 19 games before the trip to Great Falls.
"At the end of the day we got some good teachable moments," Heimel said. "That's going to be one of the better teams we'll face all year. I'm encouraged that after a long break we're right there. It'll be good to practice this week and iron some things out."
The Argos will travel to Williston, N.D. next week to take on Williston State (7-9) for a double-header next weekend.
