Argos Prepared for Final Home Stand

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's soccer team will look to get back on track after a two-week hiatus during their final two home games of the season. The Argos (1-11, 1-8) will host Multnomah at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and Warner Pacific for Senior Day at the same time on Saturday.

The Argos have spent the week trying to recapture the momentum they gained in their last game against Southern Oregon on Oct. 2. The Argos took the Raiders, who are currently tied for 4th in the conference, to the brink, playing a masterful game before allowing a late 87th minute goal.

"We've been spending a lot of time working on us this week," head coach Heather Blandford said. "Prior to our break, we put together a good run. We played some really phenomenal opponents right to the end. We played some high-quality matches, we played hard as a team. Now the standard is we go right back at it."

The Argos will take on the Lions (1-9, 0-8) on Friday before taking on the Knights (3-8, 2-6) on Saturday. The Argos haven't played the two teams since the 2019 season because of the way that the divisions were set last year due to COVID-19. However due to film study, Blandford believes if the team plays like their capable of, they can come away with two victories.

"Anytime you're playing a conference opponent it's going to be a battle," she said. "I think on any given day either team could come out the victor. Anytime you're in a game with competitive balance like that, it's always fun. We're really looking forward to having a great quality match. We want to take care of the little things so that we can come out on top."

Following Saturday's game against the Knights, the Argos will honor their five seniors during Senior Day. Jenna Evertz, Emma Goodwin, Shawnae Inama, Libby Martineau and Kylee Manning will be honored during their ceremony.

"They are all wonderful students and are going to go on to do much bigger and better things and will represent our Argo family well into the future with the things that they accomplish in life," Blandford said. "We get to be one little piece of that, of which we're so grateful. They're phenomenal people and they've left their legacy and their mark on this program."
