GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The #9 University of Providence women's volleyball team will look to win their tenth straight match on Wednesday when they travel to Helena to take on Carroll College. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m.

"It's always a great rivalry between us and Carroll," head coach Arunas Duda said. "They're usually pretty fun matches. Especially going down and playing on a Wednesday, I know they'll have a good crowd. It's that collegiate atmosphere that you hope for and you look forward too. That's the fun part."

The Argos (16-2, 3-0) have been on a hot streak lately, with their loss coming at the hands of #8 Bellevue on Sept. 10. The squad has rattled over nine straight since then, including beating Carroll in straight sets at the Frontier Conference Preseason Tournament in Havre.

"When we played them the first time they were missing one of their players and ran a completely different rotation," Duda said. "So we've thrown the film away and focused on the games they played this last week. I know it'll be a different team than we played the first time. They look good, they look tough. They're strong at the net defensively and transitioning to put the ball away. It's going to be a battle."

The Fighting Saints (9-9, 2-1) are coming off a win against Rocky Mountain College, and will eager for revenge. They are led offensively by senior middle blocker Taelyr Krantz, who is averaging 3.4 kills per set. Krantz is also active defensively, averaging 3.4 blocks a match.

The Argos also have some big-time players, including two, Sacha Legros and Jenna Thorne, who were named the Erck Hotels Frontier Conference Players of the Week on Monday. Legros has been a rock defensively, recording 5.87 digs per set on the season, good for eighth in the nation. Thorne leads the team in kills (216) and kills per set (3.43).

Sadie Lott is also caused problems for opponents, recording 212 kills (3.37 per set) on a .304 hitting percentage for the year. The dynamic attack wouldn't be possible without All-American setter Cydney Finberg-Roberts, who is averaging 10.8 assists per set, good for eighth in the nation.

"I like the fact that we're moving the ball around really well," Duda said. "I think our ball control is pretty good. We've been very aggressive at the service line. I'm just excited about how we're focusing on some of the little things now and correcting some of those things so that way they don't surface again over some of our matches. I'm very pleased with our progress. Our girls are focused on continuing to get better. Hopefully that pays off and shows in our next one."
