Darko-Kelly Wins 8th Career Frontier Conference Player of the Week Award

WHITEFISH, Mont. – For the eighth time in his career, Zaccheus Darko-Kelly of the #10 University of Providence men's basketball team has been named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week.

Darko-Kelly averaged averaged 22.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists for the week, including a 37 point, 13 rebound eight assist performance to lead the Argos to a double-overtime victory over Montana Western on Wednesday.

"He's got more Player of the Weeks than anybody I've ever coached," head coach Steve Keller said. "I've had some good players but none that does everything that he does. He's worked extremely hard to be this productive. Credit that to him because he's put in the work."

This is Darko-Kelly's second time winning the award this season. He is currently leading the Frontier Conference in points (19.6 ppg), rebounds (10.4 rpg) and blocks (1.9 bpg), is second in the conference in assists (6.0 apg), and is third in the conference in steals (1.3 spg).

Though his scoring numbers are down from last year, his numbers in every other category have increased. Keller credits that to both Darko-Kelly's unselfishness and the plethora of playmakers around him.

"We had a lot of guys that maybe could have gotten it this week," Keller said. "His scoring is down, but his rebounding is up, his assists are up. He's just everything for us. He's scoring, he's rebounding, he's getting assists, he's blocking shots, he's getting steals. He's earned everything that he's gotten so far."

Darko-Kelly and the Argos (10-1, 10-1) will take on Montana State-Northern on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
