Great Falls, Mont. - At the beginning of every season teams set goals. Making the conference playoffs is one of the top two or three and that is what the University of Providence women's soccer team has a chance to do with a win Saturday at Argo Field. The Argos can wrap up a spot in the Cascade Conference Tournament with a win over Carroll College and a loss by Warner Pacific. Providence sits two points behind Rocky Mountain College and one point behind WPU for the eighth and final playoff spot. Warner Pacific plays at Southern Oregon Saturday while Rocky sits idle after a scoreless draw with Carroll Friday.
After early season struggles, the chance to make the postseason all comes down to this says Argo Head Coach Heather Blandford, "This is an exciting match for our program. With a win against Carroll, we give ourselves a chance to advance to the CCC Tournament for the first time since 2017. To have this opportunity at home, on senior day, in front of our home fans, means the world to us. It's always fun when you have something to fight for, and we definitely do."
Before the match, the Argos will hold senior day honoring six young ladies. Kickoff is set for 1 PM at Argo Field. To watch the live stream, visit www.upargos.com.
