GREAT FALLS, MONT. -- The University of Providence women's soccer team travels to Cheney, Wash. for a nonconference matchup against Eastern Washington University on Aug. 31. The first touch is scheduled for 5 p.m. at EWU Soccer Field and it will be broadcasted on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
The Argos won their first game of the season behind four second half goals to defeat Northwestern College 4-2. UP went into halftime down by two and thanks to two goals in three minutes by junior Malan Flygare the Argos were able to tie it up early into the second half. Later in the match junior Rane Jackson put a perfect ball into the box for sophomore Dani Waialeale to give the Argos a 3-2 lead. Jackson then put the game away with her first goal of the season on a breakaway attempt that beat the keeper.

Season Leaders
Flygare is the Argos leading goal scorer thus far after her two-goal outburst last week. Waialeale, Jackson, and sophomore Ernestina S. Ofori are all tied for second with one goal apiece. Sophomore Kailey Camper has the most assists on the team with two and is also tied for second in shots with seven. In goal, freshman Kam Nadeja is the save leader for UP with eight so far this season.

Eastern Washington University
This will be the first matchup in program history between the Argos and the Eagles. EWU started their season 0-3 after losses to Washington State, Pacific, and Nebraska. The Eagles return eight starters from last year's squad that finished 5-8-5 and placed seventh in the Big Sky Conference. Head coach Heather Blandford on the matchup with EWU stated, "We're really excited for the chance to play a talented division one opponent where we can learn and grow as a team. Playing such a high-level program will give us the opportunity to identify what we are doing well, and where we need to improve prior to the start of our conference season."
