Great Falls? Towns Named to Inaugural NAIA All-Star Game

Kansas City, Mo. – 3/13/14 – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2014 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball All-Star team, the four contestants in the Slam Dunk Contest and four participants in the 3-Point Contest. The NABC-NAIA Men's Basketball All-Star Game, presented by US Bank, and the NABC-NAIA Men's Basketball 3-Point and Slam Dunk Contests, presented by Rawlings, will occur on March 22, as part of the Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship in Kansas City, Mo.



University of Great Falls star Marcel Towns was named to the inaugural NAIA Division I team. Towns was recently named Frontier Conference player of the year for the second consecutive year. Towns led the league in points and steals. He was ranked No. 4 in steals in the NAIA and No. 5 in steals per game. He finished 11th in points in the nation.

The game will pit the some of the best players from NAIA Division I against the same from NAIA Division II. The University of Great Falls and Frontier Conference are Division I members.

"I am really happy for Marcel," said Steve Silsby, Great Falls head basketball coach. "This is a great honor and we are proud that he will represent the University of Great Falls and our men's basketball program."
