GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's soccer team was picked to finish 9th in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
The Argos, who finished 9th in the CCC last season, were picked to be one spot short of the CCC Postseason Tournament. The top eight seeds of the 13-team conference qualify for the tournament.
"The poll seems like it follows how we finished last season with how it rolled out," head coach Brian Clarke said. "We're really excited about our great group of returners. We're really excited to get the opportunity to put it all together and see what we got."
Eastern Oregon was picked to win the conference, receiving all but one first-place vote. Oregon Tech was picked to finish second, with Northwest and Rocky Mountain tied for third.
Clarke hopes the experience and chemistry that was developed last season will help lead the Argos to a CCC Tournament bid.
"We keep talking about the culture they built last season and how it has helped carry them through the pandemic," Clarke said. "We got some great young newcomers to add into that as well. We're just going to keep improving as a whole."
The Argos will open the season on the road against Northwest on Feb. 14.
