Hall of Fame
Three-time NAIA All-American Michael French is the second wrestler inducted into the Argo Hall of Fame, following former teammate Mike Kummer who was part of the 2016 Hall of Fame Class.
French wrestled for the Argos from 2008-2011 and was one of the best 184 lb. wrestlers in the NAIA during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. After not placing at nationals as a freshman, French burst onto the scene as a sophomore, taking third place at nationals. He followed that up with another bronze medal finish in 2010 and went one step further as a senior, becoming the national runner-up.
During his junior and senior seasons, French was a key member of two of Argo wrestling's most successful teams, helping the 2010 squad finish third in the nation and the 2011 squad take fourth. French was also an accomplished student, being named a two-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete. He currently is second in Argo history in career wins with a record of 126-36 and seventh all-time with 32 career pins.
After graduating from the then University of Great Falls, French stayed with Argo wrestling as an assistant coach for three years.
