A native of Denver, Colo., Mike played four seasons from 1969-73 and earned All-American honorable mention. He scored 1,267 points in his UGF career, and went on to play one year of professional basketball in Australia before returning to Denver to coach high school basketball. Mike later returned to UGF in 1999 to help restart the athletic program. Mike was the men's basketball head coach and athletic director until 2003. Men's and women's basketball and volleyball returned to UGF under Mike's guidance.
